W221

The W221 S-Class was Mercedes-Benz's flagship from 2005 to 2013, offered as the standard W221 and the long-wheelbase V221. Diesel cars run the OM642 V6, while petrol models use the M273 V8 and the M278 in later S500s, with the S63 and S65 AMG using AMG V8 and V12 engines. Airmatic air suspension was standard, and the V12 and some V8 models added the active ABC system.

Flagship electronics and air suspension are the parts most often needed: Airmatic struts, compressors and valve blocks, ABC components, control modules, COMAND head units, headlights and mirrors. Because new S-Class parts are expensive, used originals from a dismantler are the practical choice for keeping one of these cars on the road.
